We must remain steadfast on our path to Ending the HIV Epidemic in SC by refocusing on three main objectives, which are: i) identify the 16% of SC residents estimated to be living with HIV who do not know their status and rapidly link and retain them in care; ii) look for the 30% of residents living with HIV who are presumed to have fallen out care and re-link and retain them in care; and iii) actively identify residents who are at high risk for HIV infection and link and retain them on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and other evidence-based interventions (EBIs) for preventing HIV. We must maintain focus on and complete this triangle of objectives if we should end HIV here, which we must . . . and will!
Message from the Mayor

We are proud to be a Fast-Track City to address this public health epidemic. Working with our state and community partners, our goal is to eliminate the stigma associated with HIV and increase public engagement in treatment opportunities and prevention resources among people in the Charleston area.
John J. Tecklenburg
Mayor of Charleston
